Oops! APOLOGIES FOR SOUND QUALITY ON THIS ONE. Tech problems...🤦♀️It is better on the next video, Immune System 2. 🙏We have put on subtitles which you can move to another area of the screen by clicking and dragging on them.
We all want to improve the immune system so that we can fight infections naturally. In this yoga video, Lin and Leo show you how you can use yoga to protect against, and fight off, common ailments like colds, coughs and winter tummy bugs. Here the yoga sequence involves strong twists, to stretch and massage the cells, the muscle fibres and internal organs. It is designed to help to stimulate the endocrine system, (Glands) and by massaging the liver, kidneys and other abdominal organs, it assists in the detox of the body. (Don't be surprised if you need to pee once you have finished these yoga routines!)

You will need a yoga bolster for this practice. If you don't have a bolster, use a pillow or several folded blankets.
A regular yoga practice can help you gain and maintain good mental and physical health and good posture - all of which are linked. Yoga practice can improve strength and flexibility and yoga for back pain relief and yoga for weight loss has been supported by many studies.
Yoga is not a sport but regular practice of yoga sequences can improve fitness levels. Practiced correctly, yoga will stretch muscles and strengthen joints, as well as helping with mental and physical wellbeing; indeed many studies have shown that yoga can have remarkable effects on problems with back pain, shoulder pain and neck pain as well as demonstrating positive effects on mental health problems such as depression. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10...
The asanas in this online yoga class are:
Arm actions in Tadasana
Utkatasana (Chair Pose)
Uttanasana (Forward Fold)
Trikonasana (Triangle Pose)
Bharadvajasana Twist using a Bolster
Bharadvajasana 1 Twist
Savasana
Iyengar yoga is slow and strong with a focus on alignment and precision. This is Iyengar Yoga for Beginners, however, the deep stretch in these twists means that we would recommend that you take this yoga lesson slowly and come into the poses with a degree of caution if you have not done Iyengar Yoga before.
